in its Concept Stores’ Restrooms
ATLANTA, GA., April 18, 2008 - Step ‘n Wash, Inc. today announced that Borders®, a leading retailer of books, music, movies, stationery and gift items, has installed its Step ‘n Wash retractable steps in the restrooms of its newly-opened Ann Arbor and Las Vegas concept stores. The retailer will also be installing Step ‘n Wash in its 13 additional concept stores opening nationwide this year.
Born out of necessity, Step ‘n Wash is a parent-approved product that enables children to safely reach sinks and soap dispensers in public restrooms. Step ‘n Wash is the brainchild of Joi Sumpton, an Atlanta-based mother who realized there was as much of a need for a retractable step in restrooms as there was for diaper-changing tables.
“We tested Step ‘n Wash in our first concept store, which opened in Ann Arbor in mid-February, and found that parents and kids responded well to the product,” said Senior Vice President of Borders Group Operations Steve Davis. “Step ‘n Wash is easy to install and easy to maintain, and most importantly it provides a safe way for kids to independently access faucets and soap dispensers in the restrooms of our concept stores. We’re very pleased with the product.”
“Borders is regarded as a leader in providing exceptional customer experiences,” said Paul Sumpton, Vice President of Step ‘n Wash, Inc. “We’re excited to provide a product that will enhance the overall customer enjoyment of Borders’ new concept stores.”

Paul Sumpton, Vice President Step 'n Wash receives "Best New Product" Award Atlanta, GA - (November 16, 2007) - Inspired leadership, ingenuity and product safety have earned Step ‘n Wash, Inc. the award of "Best New Product" from IAAPA, the largest international trade association for amusement facilities worldwide. As 27,000 people from 98 nations participated in the IAAPA Attractions Expo 2007 last week, Step ‘n Wash stood out amongst others as a widely popular product that is revolutionizing the all too familiar and uncomfortable hoisting position that parents, grandparents and caregivers encounter as they try and wash children’s hands in public restrooms. The advanced engineering and design of Step 'n Wash makes it the first and only retractable step to provide children with a safe platform to safely and effectively wash their hands. When asked about the award, Joi Sumpton, Step 'n Wash Founder and President added, "A lot of talented people have worked very hard over the past two years to make Step 'n Wash what it is today and it's extremely gratifying to have those efforts recognized by such a prominent association." Paul Sumpton, Vice President About Step 'n Wash Established in 2005, Step 'n Wash has created the first and only retractable step that enables children to safely and effectively wash their hands in public restrooms by providing children with a secure step to help them reach the sink and soap dispenser.
